Atlanta United trumped Orlando City, 2-0, and they are trending up toward repeating as MLS Cup Champions.

Duane Walker listed three main reasons why Atlanta United will win again.

  • Although United lost Miguel Almirón to Newcastle United in England. But we’ve got Pity Martínez.

Like all fans, Duane has been waiting for Martínez to bust out of his slump. He scored his first MLS goal in the first half against Orlando City to put United in the lead.

  • Atlanta United players are beginning to mesh under new hemanager Frank de Boer. Although it was a rough 2018 for Ezequiel Barco, he has a fresh start under new management where he is beginning to flourish. Duane decides to name him the season's MVP thus far.

Not only are Martínez and Barco taking off, Brad Guzan stretches out to keep the lead against Orlando, giving him a MLS career high of 45 clean sheets.

  • Lastly, soccer fans have the opportunity to learn and grow with Atlanta United and this is ultimately why Duane believes they will be MLS Cup Champions again.

“The talent is there, the support is there from top to bottom, management on down," Walker said. "Organically, we get to grow with the organization because we have been here from the beginning. That’s what makes it all the more special.”
