Grant McAuley talks Atlanta Braves on The Midday Show with Rick and John Thursday.

They queried Grant as to whether the Braves are serious about Manny Machado. Grant said he considers this more of due diligence by the Braves and would rather talk about this during Hot Stove season. Grant thinks Machado will end up in Los Angeles when all is said and done.

Max Fried has earned his next start for the Braves, said Grant, and related it to the revolving door of pitchers for the Braves going to the DL in their starting rotation.

Grant gave us his key takeaway from the Braves-Yankees series up in the Bronx. He mentioned how the Braves don’t have a longer losing streak of three games meaning they have the ability to turn things around quickly.

Touki Toussaint will make his first Triple-A start in Gwinnett and Grant has high praise and believes he should be called up from the minors very soon based on how he has performed recently.

Grant told us the Braves versus Brewers series will be evenly matched and it will come down to whose pitchers execute the best.

Grant told us the Braves will do their due diligence around the trade deadline and look for the deals to best help the club if there are any.
