Newly acquired Atlanta Braves reliever Mark Melancon didn't take long to waive his "no-trade" clause with the San Francisco Giants.

"It was so exciting to be able to go from a team that has an opportunity to go (to the postseason) to a team that I know is going to get there, which is pretty cool," Melancon told Andy and Randy.

"As a ballplayer, that's what you're trying to do is get there and once you get there, World Series. I think this team has a chance, and it was an easy decision for me to say yes to a "no-trade" clause."

The three-time All-Star has a .350 ERA in 48 games with the Giants this season. The Braves sent right-handed pitchers Dan Winklerand Tristan Beck to the Giants in exchange for Melancon.

So what does he thinks makes this Braves team so special?

"Right off the bat, they have great energy; great energy in the clubhouse, on the field, young guys that have a ton of talent" Melancon said. "There's a vision. That vision is planned out. It's a clear road map to the playoffs."

"It's cool when you have direction and everbody is on that same page. It should make that goal a lot easier and more attainable."
