Dansby Swanson’s tear continues as he hit another home run Monday taking his season total to 12, only two off of his career high of 14 last year while taking his RBI total up to 41 for the season. Dukes & Bell talked about what he is now projected to reach in season totals, and is he finally living up to his expectations?

Carl said that if you go back to last year, Dansby was hurt more than most realized.

“If you rewind to last year we didn’t know how hurt he was,” Dukes said. “At the end of the day though, if I went back and said what if Dansby Swanson could be a 30 home run, 100 RBI guy, you would have laughed. I don’t expect him to get 30 and 100 at his position, but he’s projected to get you that right now with him being at 41 RBI already.”

Mike talked about Dansby finally living up to being the first overall selection.

“We’ve always said the fielding is a given,” Bell said. “When you throw in the hitting, lets give credit to Chipper Jones for helping him and now he’s taking what the pitchers give you and he’s spraying the ball all over the field. He’s now looking like the No. 1 pick that Arizona took him with, and makes them look bad for making that trade when they did.
