Happy Memorial Day! JR & Harry Douglas are filling in for John and Hugh on The Morning Show this Memorial Day Holiday.  JR and Harry talked about the new acquisition of former first round pick, LB Deone Bucannon. Bucannon was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals and spent the last season with Tampa Bay and the Giants. They have filled the holes that they have needed in free agency with the likes of RB Todd Gurley, TE Hayden Hurst, and DE Dante Fowler Jr., among others. What these guys all have in common are that they are all former first round picks. Some may think, like JR, that this team is stacked with talent, but the NFC South is stacked as well.

Harry talked about what Coach Quinn did last season that can translate over to this year. Harry said Coach Quinn realized that, “less is better.” They have simplified the things that they did on the defensive side of the ball during the season that we were able to see the difference immediately. He also talked about switching Raheem Morris from offense to defense and seeing the secondary get better under his coaching. It will be interesting to see, as the team moves forward with all of the new talent, how the defense will look with Coach Morris at the helm of the defense for a full season. For the Falcons to have successful season, they have to stay healthy and they have to win their division. This will not be an easy task as Tampa Bay have gotten better and the Saints are still at the top of the NFC South.
