In the matter of one weekend, the Atlanta Falcons have gone from underdogs in the NFC South to division favorites.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is expected to miss at least six weeks after suffering ligament damage to his thumb on Sunday.

And today, it was reported that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton could miss some time after an apparent foot injury.

The Falcons won't face an NFC South opponent until November 10th, when they travel to New Orleans. So in the meantime, they need to take care of business ahead of the NFC South gantlet at the back-half of their schedule.

"After the bye week, is when the season is made or broken," Andy Bunker said of the Falcons schedule. "You got eight weeks to close out the season, six of them are against teams in your division. Before you get there though, I think the Falcons have a great opportunity to put themselves in position to go into those games in a great spot."

"If you do what you're supposed to do, the rest of the division might crumble around you. Sign me up for that."
