Rich Mckay joined Dukes and Bell and talked with the guys about the new player safety rules “Whenever you look at new rules it always starts questions of why are you doing this? The helmet rule was driven by good data and video that players were now using their helmets as a weapon more than in the past. I understand the fans thinking it would change the game, but I think so far so good. The emphasis on Quarterback protection we have emphasized a rule that’s been on the books for a long time, and when you do that it

When talking about the injuries our Falcons have suffered so far this year McKay said “I have, it just seems to come sometimes in bunches, if it’s going to happen to you I’d much rather it happen to you early in the year where the players can come back, other than late in the year where it’s harder to replace them, because you the vested veterans out there haven’t played and they get out there in week 13 and they tend to get hurt in those situations.”
