Hawks CEO Steve Koonin joined Dukes and Bell to talk about the latest with the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. Koonin on Trae Young’s play so far, “I’m seeing a vision in passing ability we haven’t seen since Steve Nash. I think Trae (Young) has brought a lot to us so far. We know what we are trying to do and that’s develop young players. We all forget that John Collins hasn’t even taken the court yet. Once we get John (Collins) back on the court we will see the maturation on this team.”

Koonin on State Farm Arena, “We are getting rave reviews. Right now the narrative about us is all positive so hopefully we can keep it up.”

Koonin on scoring being up across the league, “It’s the 20 year discovery of the 3 point shot. It makes no sense to take a mid-range jumper. If you are going to take a jumper, you should do it from three. I do think that scoring sells. This is video game sports and there are such skilled players across the league.”

Koonin went on to talk about how the team is managing Trae Young’s minutes and the Hawks upcoming schedule.
