Atlanta Hawks GM Travis Schlenk joined The Morning Show with John and Hugh as the team prepares to return to action on Friday following the NBA All-Star break.

Schlenk recently did an interview with ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski talking about the franchise's rebuild:

One of the things also brought up in that interview was the draft night trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Dallas Mavericks and acquiring Trae Young.

Schlenk made it clear that he's absolutely pleased with what Young's done after 58 games and that his future is certainly bright in a Hawks uniform.

"One of the things that made Luka hard (in making their decision) is trying to figure out where you would play him. I think Dallas has done a great job of giving the ball and turning him into a playmaker."

"I've said all along that one of the things that we were going to look for in the draft last year was a playmaker and obviously, we felt like the two best playmakers, without a doubt, were both Trae and Luka."

"We couldn’t, obviously, be happier with the way Trae’s come along, and we feel like he's on a great track and has a really bright future in front of him. We’re ecstatic with the way it all played out, where we got one of the guys we wanted and we were able to pick up, hopefully, another lottery pick in the process."
