Atlanta Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce joined Rick and John just ahead of the NBA All-Star break. The team will have two players representing the team during All-Star weekend: John Collins and Trae Young.

Coach Pierce has seen the confidence of rookie Young continue to grow throughout his first season, and is excited for both he and Collins as they participate in this weekend's events.

The Hawks made a couple of minor deals prior to last week's trade deadline, one that included sending veteran guard Jeremy Lin to the Toronto Raptors. While GM Travis Schlenk said he was happy to assist Lin in a buyout of his contract to "help him try to get a ring,” Pierce told Rick and John what he thought of the move.

"You want to balance your locker room. You want to balance your team but it's also one of those things where you don't want disgruntled players, and you don't want to put yourself in a position where it's--Jeremy was great for us, and he was great for us all along. He was great at keeping his counterpart with Trae and his growth and development. It was great for us to help Jeremy get back on track with his career."

Coach Pierce said the move allowed them to convert unproven rookie Jaylen Adams to a full-time contract. He said Adams was the hardest, most deserving of the move.

"We'll miss Jeremy but we're not going to look back."
