Atlanta Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce joined Rick and John on Thursday with the latest on the team.

Coach Pierce told Rick he never thought about having John Collins in the NBA dunk contest because he isn’t sure what he has in his repertoire. Lloyd mentioned how most players have a sophomore slump but John Collins seems to be taking it the other way and keeps racking up points and stats this season.

Coach Pierce agreed with Rick that John Collins does remind him of Amare Stoudemire and called it a great comparison. Lloyd reinforced that Kevin Herder needs to shoot more during the game because the more he shoots the better he gets during a game. Coach Pierce gave us the update on Taurean Prince’s recovery and how he is spot-shooting during practice and won’t travel with the team until they believe he is ready to go.

They talk about the holidays and Lloyd told us his plan will be to come up with activities to do with his wife and daughter on her first Christmas. Coach Pierce says he is looking forward to playing in the Garden and expecting a great crowd against the Knicks.
