Thomas Mott has spent hours over the last couple of months breaking down the extremely difficult task that is the NBA draft.

As he's said many times, there are NO guarantees in the NBA draft.  If you draft three rookies, they all won't start.  They're too young and there is little hope all three will be huge successes.  In reality, the Hawks will try to trade up.  The question becomes: WHERE will they trade up to?  If it's No. 3, do you grab RJ Barrett, even though he's said he only wants to play for the New York Knicks.

More realistically, the Hawks should trade up to No. 5 and pick again at either No. 8 or No. 10.  This is the dream scenario.  Grab Culver at 5, then Reddish at 8.  Thomas also suggests the Hawks call the Washington Wizards to inquire about Bradley Beal.  He's a better player right now than any player in the draft aside from Zion.
