The Atlanta Hawks signed the NBA's oldest player on Wednesday, 41-year-old future Hall of Famer Vince Carter, to a one-year, $2.4 million deal.

Carter was drafted on June 24, 1998 which was roughly three months before current rookie point guard Trae Young was born (September 19, 1998).

"I was excited," Hugh said when he first read the news on Twitter. "I was excited for the veteran leadership he can bring to the younger guys."

JOhn Fricke agreed on The Morning Show Thursday.

"I think Vince is going to appreciate the fact that he's wanted and desired," said Fricke.

He also believes the Atlanta Hawks fan base is going to be just as excited to see him at Philips Arena come fall.
