It was time for Five Stripes preview with Mike Conti on Dukes & Bell and previewed tonight’s match against the Chicago Fire.

Mike warned that Chicago is not as bad as the record indicates.

“Chicago is not as bad as their record indicates.” Conti said “They out played the Red Bulls on Friday nightbut lost 3-1 because they gave up some goals late, they’re a team that gets a lot of shots up they’ve just had some trouble converting. You get the feeling it’s just a matter of time before they start converting and winning, I don’t think this will be a pushover match.”

Conti said that it’s been remarkable what the United has done without key starters.

“It’s pretty remarkable that Barco has now missed 11 of the last 12 matches.” Conti said “Of those 11 that he’s missed Atlanta United has on 8 of them, that’s really remarkable, in a 1-1 match late against a really good Montreal team they were able to scratch out the game winning goal. You have to give the guys who have stepped into these roles a ton of credit, you have to hope Barco can come back on Sunday you wouldn’t expect him to go 90 minutes.”

When asked what United is facing tonight.

“They’re 4-1-4 at home.” Conti said “They’ve had to play a lot of difficult road matches, they’ve had some hard road matches and performed horribly on the road, it’s a hard league to win in on the road. Atlanta United is going to have to work, be responsible defensively and be a lot more careful with the ball than they were against Montreal, you have to be mistake free in the back.”
