Atlanta United is still hoping to earn home field advantage in the postseason but they'll need to take care of business starting with Chicago Fire at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

The Five Stripes control their own destiny in the race for the Supporters' Shield with the NY Red Bulls sitting only one-point back in the standings. It would also mean earning the team's first trophy.

"We've worked hard for nine months or so to get ourselves in this position, and we control our own destiny with two games to play," defender and team Captain Michael Parkhurst told John and Hugh on Wednesday morning. "I think any team in the league is envious of the position that we are in now, and we know that we can go out there and control our own destiny. So we gotta get it done against Chicago this weekend, and that's what we plan to do."

In unrelated game news, the Atlanta Falcons will be without kicker Matt Bryant in Monday Night's game against the New York Giants. One Atlanta United player tweeting the following in response to the team looking for a kicker:

With having practiced at Flowery Branch, and obviously playing in the same stadium as the Falcons, who would Parkhurst suggest fill the roll if it came down to it?

"If I had to choose one guy who I thought could go in there and make a 50-yarder, it would probably be Jeff Larentowicz."

Parkhurst continued: "Jeff's an all-around athlete, and I could see him doing well." He also said the team has had some fun in the past attempting to kick field goals.
