As Atlanta United traveled down to Orlando for Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup semifinal against Orlando City, a key piece of the puzzle for the defending MLS Champions was missing.

It broke this morning that Josef Martinez was not with the team and was likely to miss tonight's game with an injury.

Doug Roberson of the AJC provided the latest updates from Orlando and what the plan could be without Josef up top tonight.

"He suffered an adductor injury on Monday towards the end of training, did not travel with the team yesterday, and is unlikely to play in the U.S. Open Cup Semifinal today," said Roberson. "De Boer has a few options. Villalba is back, they can try Pity or Barco up there, or go with a false nine. They could bunker and try to beat them on the counter or try to win on penalty kicks."

With a monster tilt with NYC FC coming up on the weekend, Atlanta United is hoping the injury doesn't hold him out beyond tonight's game with Orlando City.
