Atlanta United Goal Keeper Brad Guzan joined Dukes & Bell live from Costa Rica as the team gets ready for their opening game of the CONCACAF Champions league, the changes under Frank deBoer, and the addition of Pity Martinez.

Guzan talked about how you have to be ready for a battle when playing in the Champions League.

“It’s going to be a battle, anytime you come down to Central America to play these teams it’s going to be real competition.” Said Guzan “We knew that coming down here and we’re ready for it.”

Brad discussed Frank deBoer’s part in changes with the defense.

“He’s for sure had a say.” Guzan said “It’s not just significantly for me, but how we want to play out of the back, he’s got his own ideas on how we can better that and he’s been really good on communicating that.”

When asked about the addition of Pity Martinez.

“First and foremost he’s a proper player, you can see his quality daily in training.” Said Guzan “Any time a foreign player comes to the US or any other league it takes time for them to get comfortable, and hopefully he’s settling in here and he can just concentrate on playing soccer and that’s when it’s going to get fun.”
