Saturday evening, July 11, 2020, Atlanta United played and lost against, as Sam puts it, their arch-nemesis the New York Red Bulls 1-0. This was the first live sports by an Atlanta team since Vince Carter hit his last three point shot as a NBA player.

Mike Conti, Atlanta United Radio play by play announcer, joined Sam Crenshaw and Greg Clarkson to talk about the Atlanta United match with the New York Red Bulls that saw United lose 1-0. Sam asked Conti was he surprised by the starting lineup and was there any rust on these players with so much time off.

Mike Conti was surprised that Ezequiel Barco did not start but learned he picked up a minor injury this week during training camp. Conti did like the way that United played, except for the end of the game. He also says that Atlanta United is really struggling without having Josef Martinez in the lineup. Conti says, “the chances were created, the finishing was not there.” Conti thinks some of that could be rust and some of it could be United missing Martinez in the lineup.
