Michael Parkhurst joined Dukes & Bell and talked about the disappointing end to the regular season “We were all disappointed about the performance, the results and what could have been, but we talked to the guys about how good of a position we have  put ourselves in, we still have a trophy we can go out and win so we have put all our focus on NYCFC.”

Parkhurst talked about playing on the road at Yankee stadium “I think that they were fortunate to draw at our place, and we were very fortunate to draw at their place, it’s tough to go to Yankee stadium and win, the field is small and they play very well up there.”

Parkhurst continued on playing at Yankee stadium  “When I watch New York city play there, they understand the dimensions, and they know how to play in the tight spaces. For away teams when you go there it’s so tight that you hesitate on passes, and shots, it’s tough to go there and get a result, but that’s what the playoffs are for and you have to go there and get a good result.”

When asked about the difference Miguel Almiron makes on the pitch “I don’t think we play much differently when Miggy is in there, but anytime when you’re missing one of the top 3 players in the MLS you’re going to suffer. He can get the ball out of tight spaces and attack like no one else in the MLS can do.”

Michael discussed what the is opportunity means to the team “No we all wanna win, for ourselves, for Tata, for our fans, for everything, but you tinker with things in the playoffs, with how you play out of the back but for the most part things will stay the same.”
