Atlanta United radio analyst Jason Longshore joined the Midday Show with Rick and John to give an update as the upcoming season approaches for the 5-Stripes.

United will kick off the year playing in the CONCACAF Championship against some of the toughest Central and South American teams. Jason said their first match of the series will be their most difficult one against Costa Rican Premiere team, Herediano.

The plan for United is to be even more explosive on offense under new head manager Frank De Boer. The club also plans to defend more this season, and the seven United games in the first month under De Boer will be interesting to watch.

United’s first game of the MLS season is against D.C. United, which Rick refers to as the "Chris McCann bowl." Jason explained that McCann's salary was on the higher end and that was one of the reasons United parted from the midfielder.
