An Atlanta United first-team player has tested positive for the Covid-19.

The name of the player has not been released. Atlanta United will follow all of the protocols for a positive test and the player will be retested.

Carl said that leagues can’t stop due to positive tests.

“The reason why this is important is this is going to happen. Whether it’s the NBA putting guys in quarantine for two weeks, that’s like being on injured reserve for two weeks,” Dukes said. “As these things play out and we get into MLS season down there, and we get into the NBA season resuming and playoffs and a championship, ultimately this is going to happen. How it affects your team depends on who it is happening to.

"These leagues have to realize that they can’t and probably won’t stop due to positive tests.”

Mike talked about the importance of teams anticipating positives tests.

“They have to anticipate this," Bell said. "They have to anticipate that they’re going to have more than one player test positive.”
