Atlanta United President Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the win on Saturday, Eric Remedi’s status, and Pity Martinez.

Darren talked about Eric Remedi’s injury.

“He took a bit of a blow about 20 seconds in.” Eales said “The way it works in MLS, we have a doctor who checks him,  we have a protocol that he has to go thru different stages, they’ve had it in place for a few seasons now. He passed the test at first but then had issues after that and came straight off after not passing that procedure.”

Eales talked about Barco’s contribution in Saturday’s game.

“He did great didn’t he, I thought he made an impact straightaway.” Eales said “We saw what Frank had been working with the team on the last four weeks, being more attacking, taking more risks which is something Barco showed with that first goal, the score was great but was really fun was all the chances we were creating.

Darren talked about Pity Martinez.

“He had an injury playing with Argentina, he got married during the break as well.” Eales said “You never want to see injuries but I think it’s a blessing in disguise because he has gotten some rest, and he’s fired up now wanting to get back out there, we’re excited to see him back out there because we still have the best of Pity to come.”
