Atlanta United president Darren Eales joined Dukes and Bell Tuesday for his weekly “Free Kick segment.” and was asked about Andrew Carleton’s first career start.

“An 18-year-old making his first start in the MLS, I thought he did great," said Eales. "He didn’t do anything spectacular but he played well, and for a young kid to take the field with a Wayne Rooney and hold his own is really cool.

Carl asked about Joseph Martinez’s performance.

“It really is remarkable," said the Atlanta United president. "He’s broke the all-time hat trick record in a season and a half, and for him to do that in such a short amount of time is amazing, he’s the all-around packa."

Mike asked about the Ezekiel Barco suspension...

“Not really a suspension, just breach of team rules," said Eales. "We will keep it in house. But credit to Tata. [It] doesn’t matter who you are, if you created a breach you have to pay the price.”

When asked about Eric Remedi’s brief appearance Saturday night...

“I thought he did well for the few he was out there on Saturday," said Eales. "It brings that level of depth, we feel like we have so much more depth than at this point last year.”
