Atlanta United President Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell and talked about Mikey Ambrose and Franco Escobar’s injuries, how training has been during the break, and how the team has benefitted from the break.

Eales talked about how long Mikey Ambrose could be out.

“He had an issue with his knee that he had issues with last year.” Eales said “Looking at probably at least four weeks, but we have to see how it goes, he’s just seems to be an unlucky chap.”

Darren discussed hoping Escobar will be back sooner rather than later.

“It was disappointing with Franco.” Eales said “But he’s day to day now so hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.”

When asked about training during the team’s off time.

“This has given us a chance to get everyone together and work on our attack.” Eales said “Training has been great, been a really good attitude from the players and the coaches, this break couldn’t have come at a better time for us.”

Eales told the guys that the team has to be focused for an entire 90 minutes.

“It’s a team game, in soccer everybody lifts each other.” Eales said “Focus from the first whistle, we’ve got to have that energy from the first whistle, the reality is someone like Pity who had no rest when he joined us needs to regain that energy and this break has helped him get that spark back.”
