Atlanta United President Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the team’s win on Saturday, the move to acquire Emerson Hyndman and the US Women’s World Cup Final viewing party.

Eales talked about the acquition of Emerson Hyndman.

“We’re really excited to get Emerson,” Eales said. “At 23 years old, he’s had a great career, he’s played in tough leagues, I like the character of a player whose played in Scottish leagues. We got him on loan, we’re hoping he does well for us and hoping to make that a permanent deal.”

“We’re going to open the gates at 10:30,” Eales said when asked about the US Women’s cup viewing party on Sunday. “So we’re hoping to get a big audience to come watch the game and then roll right into our match, it’s a full bowl game as well, we think we might have more watching the game at our stadium then at the stadium in France.”

Eales then talked about Justin Meram’s performance in the match Saturday against Montreal.

What a goal that was, it was an absolute peach,” Eales said. “He had a point to prove, he’s certainly proven that point and that’s just what we needed from Justin, that’s what it’s going to be able moving forward our depth and having guys step up in big moments.“
