Jason Longshore joined Dukes & Bell and try to explain the controversial off-sides call that cost the United a goal Sunday night “I’m assuming TV was left out to dry like we we’re, the MLS doesn’t explain the call on the field, we saw on the TV closed captioning that they we’re looking at Larentowicz, then we saw on Twitter they were looking at Almiron. I think it was the right call even though it didn’t look definitive, there was nothing to define it on the replay, it didn’t look like a clear and obvious error.”

Longshore explained the mentality that the United played with in the Bronx Sunday night “They came out for a fight, that’s how you have to come out for these types of games, early on in the game Almiron got a fore arm shiver, and that seemed like a trigger for Atlanta United and they showed they could play that type of game. In the postseason you have to minimize the mistakes, you make a mistake here it’s magnified and you make multiple mistakes you’re going home.”

When asked about what NYCFC needs to do to advance to the next round of the MLS playoffs “They have to open up more, they have to start a leftwinger who can score goals, they’re going to be more wide open which will allow Atlanta United to counter attack and if you make mistakes on the big field at the Benz it’s going to lead to goals.”
