On Tuesday morning it was reported that Josef Martinez picked up a knock and was going to miss the U.S. Open Cup match against Orlando City.

Immediately the questions arose about how good United could be without the defending league MVP and if ,without Josef, Orlando City would pick up their first win against Atlanta United. But that didn't happen.

Atlanta United Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra spoke with Jon Chuckery and Hugh Douglas about the job the team did against Orlando City without Josef Martinez.

"Frank [de Boer] was hamstrung with guys being out with injury, tactically, and mentally the coaching staff did a really good job preparing the guys and the mentality to keep pushing was a real dig-deep moment," said Bocanegra.

Bocanegra also discussed the team's record on the road this year and why it's been tougher than it was last season.
