The Atlanta Falcons didn't win Friday or grab their first win of the NFL preseason, but on The Midday Show on Monday, John Michaels and Randy McMichael discussed what they liked and didn’t like from the Falcons' 28-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • John and Randy both agreed that linebacker Duke Riley looked more comfortable Friday night against the Chiefs.
  • John praised the offense for looking crisp in all stages, including the running game.
  • We heard from Calvin Ridley on how he can’t wait to get into a groove and start making plays. 
  • John and Randy discussed the play-calling on offense and how they were trying to get them the chance to score. Randy mentioned their woes on short yardage and made the point that it need to be addressed.
  • John and Randy called out the refs for the calls they made regarding the new helmet rule and how a lot of their calls were ridiculous.
  • John talked about Patrick Mahomes struggling against the Falcons defense when they were on the field and how he threw the long touchdown against second- and third-stringers. ​
