Atlanta United VP and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra joined the Morning Show as the team prepares for their match against the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

Back on June 26th, Atlanta United announced that they had signed Eric Remedi, who has spent his entire career with Banfield, part of Argentina’s Primera Division. The midfielder, who will provide more backup as Darlington Nagbe is out 2-3 months with a groin issue. Remedi was greeted by Atlanta United fans as arrived in Atlanta early Friday morning.

However, the timeline of intergrating him with the team, and when we could see him on the field with the team. Bocanegra said there’s not too much of a jetlag coming up from Argentina, but the team needs to see his progression through this next week before formally being selected. He is a “little bit of a pitbull” when it comes to his playing style but he needs to be more technical to play along with Atlanta United.

The Seattle Sounder come into Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 4-4-9 which is good enough for 10th in the Western Conference. Bocanegra said you can’t overlook this team based on their record.

“Obviously their record is not great at the moment but you don’t want to count these guys out.”

Seattle was at this same point last year in their season, and ended up making the playoffs by the time their season was said and done.
