Atlanta United VP and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra joined John and Hugh to talk about the team’s big match against NYCFC on Saturday.

The most difficult part of this match may come down to the measurements of the field, which are quite a bit smaller than other stadiums. “We gotta deal with it and figure out a way to go and get a result. They have to play on it. They’ve done a good job of mastering how to play on their field but big home field advantage for them. Every team has to go through there in the East so we need to go up there and figure out a way to get it done. We can’t make excuses for [field measurements].”

Head coach Tata Martino made comments about his players not bringing their ‘A’ game in the past few matches. The team’s road game at Yankee Stadium this weekend may not change that. “I’m assuming it’s not going to be a pretty game up here at Yankee Stadium because the field is so tight. The approach now is mentality, and believing in ourselves.“

Who do we root for in the World Cup since the United States is not playing? “I’m not rooting for anyone. Sit back and watch it as a fan, and not to think about it too much.”
