With baseball’s training deadline looming at 4 p.m. this afternoon, John and Hugh recapped last night’s 5-3 Braves over the Marlins.

Julio Teheran overcame a tough start to get the win. Hugh wonders if the Braves are auditioning Teheran for a trade, and the veteran responded to his performance during his postgame comments.

John mentioned the acquisition of OF Adam Duvall from the Reds for three players (Lucas Sims, Matt Wisler and Preston Tucker), and it gives the Braves outfield the possibility of platooning several players.

“None of those guys (who were sent to the Reds) factor into the team’s future,” said John. “Tonight, we’ll get a chance to see Kolby Allard make his MLB debut against the Marlins.”

Allard’s viewed as the eighth-best prospect in Atlanta’s farm system, and John points out we could see another prospect (Kyle Wright) who was promoted to Gwinnett on Monday, later in the season.
