With the Los Angeles Lakers in town Tuesday to face the Atlanta Hawks, John and Hugh debated the history of the Lakers franchise, touching on their storied history and Hall of Fame players.

They asked the listeners to vote on the poll for the "Greatest Laker of All-Time," but because Twitter only offered four players, we had to limit the poll to the following guys:

  • Wilt Chamberlain
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  • Magic Johnson
  • Kobe Bryant

Understanding that we couldn't include greats such as George Mikan, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, and newcomers like LeBron James, by the end of the show, the top two finishes in the poll were Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers' history includes 16 NBA championships, 31 conference titles, 23 division titles, and 11 retired numbers.

While another title doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon, rest assured, when it does, banner No. 17 will join the rest along with Staples Center walls.
