Dansby Swanson has ramped up his on-field activities.

#Braves’ newly signed shortstop Adeiny Hechavarría taking grounders during batting practice Friday. Braves sent underperforming Johan Camargo to Triple A and plan to play Hechavarría at short until Dansby Swanson returns from a foot contusion. Swanson did some running today and is progressing, but no timetable for return.

The Atlanta Braves shortstop, who has not played since July 23 with a heel injury, was seen taking ground balls during the team's on-field workout on Saturday.

So when can we expect Dansby back in the lineup?

"I think he's going to need a rehab assignment. He's just been out too long not to have one," 92-9 The Game's Braves insider Joe Patrick said.

And while Patrick doesn't believe we'll see Swanson in the Braves series against the Marlins, he does see him being back after the New York Mets series.

"I would think that the most likely time we see him back is when the team has a day off on Monday, and then they play in Toronto," said Patrick. "He's definitely progressing; looks like he'll be back sooner rather than later."
