Jason Longshore joined Dukes & Bell and talked some US Open Cup, Barco transfer rumors, plus the latest on the Women’s World Cup.

Longshore talked about where the US Open cup ranks for the United.

“You don’t really have to make these choices.” Longshore said “But MLS Cup is always number one and it’s the hardest to do, CONCACAF is very hard especially depending on the draw, US Open is a little less important because you’re not always at full strength.”

Jason addressed the transfer rumors surrounding Barco.

“I don’t think it’s the right time.” Longshore said “July 9th would be when that window is open, teams in Europe would be looking and very active, I don’t think Atlanta United would get the price they are asking for, and I don’t think they want to mess up the 2019 season.”

When asked about the USWNT resting some players yesterday against Chile.

“I think it was about spreading around minutes.” Longshore said “I don’t think it was about celebrations, Jill Ellis made it clear that there were a few players with some minor injuries and she was going to rest players no matter what. Seven players is a lot, and now you play a Sweden team that beat you in the last Olympics so this is a team that doesn’t have a ton of chemistry built up.”
