Darren Eales joined Dukes and Bell and talked about Josef Martinez breaking the single goal record “it was brilliant for him to do it against Orlando, it was a little bit chippy during the game and he got the goal and then the look back afterwards.” Eales continued on Martinez's celebration of the record breaking goal “No, I did tongue and cheek, I was more upset with Josef because you take your shirt off you know you’re going to get a yellow. I more concerned now because my twins are 3 ½ and they take their shirts off when they score a goal whether it’s in the backyard or wherever they happen to be.”

Darren talked with the guys on DC United's play of late “They’ve really improved, they have got a much better team, Wayne has given the team a sense of belief, the good thing for us we have the whole week to concentrate on them and they have a midweek game.”

When asked about why the team has had such success early on in its existence, Darren said “It goes back to the very start when we hired Carlos, I was really just meeting with him as  a favor for his agent. Everything we talked about, style of play, creating a family culture we hit it off right away, and that helped us set the template for the whole organization. I think one of the factors is Carlos and I had a clear identity of a style of play where we wanted it to be excited with a run and gun type of play.”
