The Atlanta Falcons playoff hopes are all but gone at this point of the season. The team dropped to 4-9 after a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers over the weekend.

With no postseason on the horizon, most fans have their sights fully set on the 2019 NFL Draft. And , if the draft were to be held today, the Falcons would hold the No. 5 overall pick.

We've heard phrases like "tank for the postseason," "mail it in," or "sit Matt Ryan." It's a notion that Falcons Radio Network analyst Dave Archer calls "stupid."

"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life; they're going to mail it in," said Archer. "You tell Grady Jarrett or you tell these guys to just quit and lay down."

Archer uses a moment in the Green Bay game as an example where Julio Jones is seen handing his touchdown ball to a child wearing a No. 11 jersey:

"There's going to be a bunch of people that go to the games for the first time ever to see Julio Jones and Matt Ryan play," Archer said of the last three games on the schedule. "And you're asking these guys to lay down so that little kid doesn't get a chance to watch his favorite player play because we're going to lay down for a draft pick? That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard said in my life."

"If I heard people say 'I'm going to quit because my job's not going well;' are you going to lay down on your family? That's who these guys are--you're going to lay down on these guys? You can't do that. It's ridiculous. It's just the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life."
