The Braves passed on re-signing Josh Donaldson this offseason due to the amount of years he received from Minnesota. Atlanta countered by signing outfielder Marcell Ozuna to a one year, $18 million deal.

The phrase 'financial flexibility' has reared it's ugly head again recently. It seems the Braves are hoarding their prospects and not wanting to deal players who may never make the team in the future.

The Chicago Cubs want to deal third baseman Kris Bryant after he has said he isn't happy with the team, especially now that Bryant lost his arbitration and the team has two more years of control.

Will the Braves send the necessary prospects for the third baseman? Probably not, and the lineup will suffer.
