Former Atlanta Falcons kicker Matt Bryant joined Dukes & Bell on Tuesday to talk about his recent departure from the team. The Falcons announced last week that they would not pick up the 17-year veteran's option.

Bryant told the guys that while no one told him this was a possibility he had a feeling it was coming.

“Nothing was ever said to me. To be flat out honest, I had a gut feeling that it could happen,” Matt Bryant told Dukes & Bell. “But I thought that with my play on the field that it couldn’t happen if that makes sense. So when it happen, I was caught off guard but that’s how it goes sometimes.”

During the 2018 season, the Falcons picked up kicker Giorgio Tavecchio after Bryant suffered a hamstring injury following a game-winning field goal in Week 6. However, once back from injury, the team kept the backup kicker on the 53-man roster. A moved that Bryant felt was also a sign of potentially being cut.

So what's next for Matt Bryant? Does he want to play for a contender?
