"77 goals his first three seasons, 31 goals in 2018, had surgery in March and if Martinez doesn't get hurt they probably don't go 0-3 when play resumes, they probably don't go goalless and get completely shut out

"If Martinez doesn't get injured, is Frank de Boer still the coach today," questions Nick Kayal.

Hugh Douglas agrees, but also felt de Boer had chances to have an impact and for the most part he didn't.

Josef Martinez is the man, not to have him out there it makes you wonder. When you're not getting the best out of the South American Player of the Year (Pity Martinez) things like that happen."
