Kirby seemingly never had long-term plans for Justin Fields

Rick Kamla and Randy McMichael talk about the possible transfer of Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Justin Fields.

With an immediate reaction, John Michaels is not surprised at all because we have heard about him leaving since Fields announced he would play in Athens. Randy thought the transfer talk would start in the spring of 2019, not this fast. He continues that the players are looking to get to the NFL as fast as possible. Randy thinks Fields is better than Fromm, but this is Fromm’s team and while Fields thought he may win the starting job, Fromm just got better.

John talks about Fields being the 11th five-star QB to transfer from their original school since 2010. This includes names like Kyle Allen, Blake Barnett, Jacob Eason and Hunter Patterson. John just wants these players to show what they can do on the field. High school football is not the SEC and a lot of these kids want it now, but don’t want to put in the work.

Randy puts some of this on UGA head coach Kirby Smart, who was not sure what to do with Fields from the start. Randy said Smart should have let Fields play more. John references some of the opportunities where Fields could have played more, but Kirby did not let put him in. John feels like Fields was limited from the start. Randy goes inside a player's mind and thinks Fields was under the impression he was going to play more as well.
