DawgNation and Atlanta Journal-Constitution writer Chip Towers joined the Dukes & Bell Monday to talk about the latest with the Georgia Bulldogs and to recap SEC Media Days.

When asked about Kirby Smart...

“Kirby is really coming into himself and seemed in control,” said the Dawgs' beat writer.

When asked about the UGA quarterback situation...

“We have seen this movie played out before between David Greene and D.J. Shockley," said Towers. "You only have two quarterbacks so they will both see the field. I think you will see a package for Fields every week, starting in Week 1.”

On UGA's outlook this season...

“They were run-away favorites for the East according to the media at SEC Media Days,” said Towers.

On tough games for the Dawgs this year...

“The two Columbia games will be huge," said Towers. "Playing South Carolina in the SEC Opener has been Hades for the Dawgs.” Towers said the games against South Carolina and Missouri will both be tough games for UGA.

On Mullen’s return to Gainsville...

“What took so long?” Towers said he thinks that Florida overthought the last few head coaching hires. “I think Mullen will be a great leader for the Florida’s football program.”

On UGA’s margin for error...

“They don’t have any," said Towers. "Last year was just a magical season and everyone was paying attention to UGA whether they wanted to or not.”
