Georgia State football faces a tough Sun Belt match up against Arkansas St. in a nationally televised game on Thursday night (7:30 p.m., ESPNU).

Panthers head coach Shawn Elliott, whose team is fresh off a bye-week, said he focused on improving team morale and on fine-tuning the little things on offense, defense and special teams. And given the fact the Panthers have played the toughest schedule in the Sun Belt Conference, Coach Elliott hopes that test pays off over their remaining six games.

“We have played some good competition, some well-coached football team to prepare for the second half of the season, mostly against conference opponents. Hopefully the tough non-conference schedule has prepared us for the six-game run.”

Coach Elliott expects Thursday’s nationally televised game against the Red Wolves to be even-keeled in a tough road environment but is hopeful his team can take that next step towards a Sun Belt Championship.
