Joining Dukes & Bell Tuesday for our weekly look at the Atlanta Braves is 92-9 The Game baseball insider Grant McAuley.

They covered the pitching performances during the three-game sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants, and McAuley says the starting pitching is the foundation of the team and that’s what hurt them in that series.

While they spoke specifically on Mike Foltynewicz' play – he gave up six runs in 1 inning in his last start – McAuley feels he needs to get better control of certain situations.

He’s encouraged by the addition of Jose Bautista, and if he struggles, they do have some players who can step in if Bautista’s fails to deliver.

Even though the losses to the Giants were their first three-game losing streak of the season, McAuley stresses that it’s a long season and given the youth of this team, they will have moments like that over the course of the 162-game schedule.
