John Fricke and Hugh Douglas talked about who the most important Atlanta athlete is right now as far as their team’s success.

Is it Matt Ryan, Trae Young, Ronald Acuña Jr., or Josef Martinez.

After both Fricke and Douglas agreed that the answer is Matt Ryan, the conversation shifted to Ronald Acuña Jr. and his contract.

“You can talk about all of the other young talent we have right now in this city but Ronald Acuña in on another planet,” said Fricke.

“Gone are the days of arbitration," Douglas responded. "You look at him (Ronald Acuña Jr.) as one of the guys who signed this deal so the team didn’t have to sign him to a crazy contract.”

Douglas continued: “It’s almost gotten to the point where baseball is like the NFL. Jared Goff is going to get major bank because of the Russell Wilson deal. He took them (the L.A. Rams) to the Super Bowl and is going to get paid. Baseball is trying to cut this off.”
