For Coaches On Hot Seat, Is COVID Season A Freebie?

While sports are definitely going to look different for a number of reasons this season, the expectations will remain, especially for coaches who are viewed as having underperformed in recent years.

There is no shortage of coaches who are under fire this season, especially in the NFL. At least five coaches (Gase, Marrone, Nagy, Patricia, and Quinn) could be facing must-win seasons.

But the question remains, how can you possibly fairly evaluate these coaches based on the limitations and adjustments they have to deal with while coaching during this pandemic?

Coaches are facing the prospects and likelihood of limited rosters, minimal or no prep time in the preseason, everything being virtual, bubble concerns, and more.

Will Palaszczuk and Hugh Douglas discuss this problem and how they think owners, schools, and organizations are going to handle it.

"Even though we are dealing with a pandemic there has to be some accountability," Hugh said. "Is there going to be a little leeway given, maybe, but it all depends on the situation."
