Atlanta United President Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell and talked about the US Open Cup final tonight, the win over Orlando, and how important the team’s depth is.

Eales talked about their opponent in the US Open Cup tonight.

“They’ve done really well this season.” Eales said “They are sitting pretty in the West, looks like they’ll make the playoffs for the first time this year, so make no bones about it this will be a tough game.”

Darren talked about the win over Orlando City Friday night.

“It was hot and humid.” Eales said “These are the ones that you need to get, you go to a rivals and pull out the win, it wasn’t the best performance but all and all I thought we played pretty well considering the circumstances.”

When asked about the importance of the team’s depth this season.

“It’s the toughest thing in sports.” Eales said “It’s the squad, it’s not the 11 that play in the game it’s the full 18 in training, it needs everyone to be able to step into their role whenever their number is called. That’s the importance of the full soccer squad and the training everyday.”
