The last time Atlanta United lost by four goals was the 2018 season opener against the Houston Dynamo, where United lost 4-0. On Wednesday night in Chicago, Atlanta matched that record losing to the Fire 5-1. United had never conceded five goals in a match in their three season history before Wednesday.

Within the first 15 minutes Atlanta found itself not only down three goals but short a man after Leandro Gonzalez Pirez received a red card after a hand ball was called against him in the box. United then played the last 15 minutes with nine players after Michael Parkhurst went down and no substitutes left.

Atlanta has a quick turn around as the New York Red Bulls come into Mercedes Benz Stadium on Sunday afternoon for a critical matchup in the East. Atlanta United color analyst Jason Longshore joined Chris GoForth and Harper LeBel (filling in for Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael on The Midday Show) to talk about exactly what happened in Chicago and what the team needs to do moving forward in the second half of the season.
