What did John Michaels observe from watching umpteen hours of college football on Saturday? More than most.

First... this is the first weekend of major shakeup at the top of the rankings.

Here are 12 more of his top observations:

  1. Wisconsin, really, to BYU? This is another reason no one gives you the benefit of the doubt. Say goodbye to the Playoff.
  2. Speaking of the Playoff, there is a huge divide between the top six and the rest of the country.
  3. Bama, UGA, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and LSU. Your national champion will come from those six.
  4. Ed Orgeron has gone from hot seat to Coach of the Year in three short weeks. What a great road performance by the Tigers.
  5. A bubble screen and a pick-6 changed the tune for Ohio State. The Buckeyes navigated the Urban suspension and should roll through the rest of the season. Dwayne Haskins is a star.
  6. UGA has another easy one. Can Missouri challenge them? The answer is... No Chance in Hell.
  7. It’s time to make a change at Georgia Tech. Paul Johnson has had some great success for the Yellow Jackets, but the program has hit a rut since 2014. Sitting at 1-2, missing a bowl game again is a huge possibility. That would be three out of four years...with 811 bowl bids, there’s no reason to ever miss out.
  8. It’s unfair for Alabama to be elite on offense ... like criminally unfair.
  9. Trevor Lawrence, your time might be right now.
  10. Will Willie Taggart survive the year? That’s the worst offensive line I’ve ever seen in college football. Noles fans are blaming Jimbo Fisher for not leaving any talent. Your lowest recruiting ranking in the last four years was around 12. A $21 million dollar buyout is the only thing that will save him.
  11. Speaking of hot seat...Clay Helton is not the guy at USC.
  12. Auburn is not out of it, but the Tigers can’t lose again... probably won’t happen.
