Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank told the AJC that the "goal" is to have wide receiver Julio Jones' contract done by the start of the season, which is 12 days away.

Meanwhile, the Falcons have a conudrum at place kicker. The team recently signed Blair Walsh to compete with Giorgio Tavecchio, who's missed 4-of-8 field goals in the team's exhibition games.

However, Tuesday wasn't a good look for Walsh who went 5 of 9 during practice.

But is Jones' impending contract preventing the Falcons from signing a big-name kicker?

"We know when Julio's deal gets done, the way that the salary works, it'll actually free up some money this year. Money that you could potentially use on a legitimate kicking option," Andy Bunker said.

Both Andy and Randy of the Midday Show agree they would love to have former Falcons kicker Matt Bryant back.

"One thing about organizations and decision makers, they don't retract alot," Randy said.

The Falcons released Bryant in February after a decade with the team. He still had two years left on his contract.
