Rick and John broke down the wild weekend in the NBA with LeBron James signing a 4-year deal with the L.A. Lakers. Rick talked about why Paul George choose to stay in OKC. John talked about the Kawhi Leonard situation and how he thinks the Spurs will cave and trade him to the Lakers like he wants. Chris Paul stays with the Rockets and gets paid. R&J believe the Lakers are a playoff team now with LeBron but if they could possibly get Kawhi that would put them a #3 in the West. John is adamant that teams in the East should be knocking on the Spurs door to make a deal with the Spurs to Kawhi. He sighted Paul George staying in OKC proves that getting a one year player doesn’t mean you can’t resign him. Rick emphasized how the Spurs are in the driver’s seat when it comes to trading Kawhi and are asking teams for the moon. John told him that Kawhi has said he might sit out the season and not play for the Spurs this season. John said the next big move in free agency could be Boogie Cousins and the Pelicans.
